Getting your home set for Spring & Summer

Now that spring is officially here, it’s time to get out of the house and get things going. You wouldn’t want to start summer with an untidy home and backyard, would you? After all, you can only enjoy those outdoor parties and BBQs if everything is in order. This is precisely why getting your home ready for spring is SO important.

In order to help you figure out what you have to do, The Deich Team has compiled 4 major tasks that you need to complete. They will involve both the house and your backyard.

  1. Is your air conditioning working?

The last thing you’d want is to have a faulty or broken cooling system during summer. Why? Because you won’t be able to find relief from the heat and you’ll probably have to wait up to a week to have someone come over because it’s their busy time.

As always, it’s best to be ready beforehand. Your best bet is to find a professional company with pocket-friendly quotes to come over for repairs and maintenance – or even installation. If you don’t have an HVAC company, give us a call, we are happy to share who we work with.

    2. Out with the old, in with the new

Put your winter clothes, bed covers, shoes, etc. away. It’s time to move them aside because warm weather is FINALLY here. Re-organize your wardrobe. This will give you a great opportunity to see if you need new clothes and shoes.

Spring cleaning is a wonderful opportunity to throw away things you collected over the winter in every room of the house, not just the closet. You will most definitely have boxes, receipts, expired pasta boxes that need to be thrown out. Also, while you’re at it, clean your fridge too!

    3. Outdoors maintenance

After months of ignoring your backyard, it’s time to give it the proper “mani-pedi” it needs. Get rid of everything that needs to be thrown away. It’s also the best time to trim the trees and bushes. Mow the lawn and feed it with special fertilizers in order to ensure that it grows healthy.

Don’t forget to take care of your plants and flowers. Some of them will bloom on their own from year to year. Others will need to be planted again. What better time to plant flowers than spring?  Grab your gardening gloves and prove to yourself that you have a green thumb! 🙂

     4. Setting the mood for Spring & Summer

Of course, a clean and organized home and backyard can go a long way. However, if you really want to relax and enjoy your Spring & Summer, you need to set the mood. The easiest way to do this is via decorations.

Hang some fairy lights around, set up the bbq near the pool, open the umbrella for shade and plant flowers. These elements really catch your eyes and draw you in. They are effective because they scream one thing: SUMMER!

We hope these 4 tasks will help you get ready for Spring & Summer. By following them, you should be able to make the transition from winter to summer seamlessly. They’ll help you clean and organize your home and backyard, as well as get you in the mood for the warm season….. then it’s time to take the sunglasses out, put on some SPF and ENJOY!
